What Makes The Palisades a Special Place to Live?
Hear it straight from The Palisades residents!
In 1987, we were the first of 7 families to move to The Palisades in Poway. We were drawn to this area because we wanted our children to attend the acclaimed Poway Unified School District. We chose The Palisades because of the one acre plus lots and the single story floor plans.
Our choice was the Sequoia model, which provided us ample space for our 4 member household. The Swim and Tennis Club membership allowed our family to keep active and to meet new neighbors. Our home faces west and we never tire of seeing the gorgeous sunsets and the view of the hot air balloons in the sky.
It is now 25 years later and some of the original homeowners are still here. However, many new families have moved to The Palisades and our neighborhood is a nice mix of interesting friends. With our adult children happily living in their own residences, we are empty nesters, retired, but still love our home and all the amenities it possesses.

O PALISADES….HOW MANY WAYS DO I LOVE THEE???
“LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!”
Perched atop a ridge, we enjoy fabulous views,
We enjoy ocean breezes,
We enjoy quiet morning sunrises,
We enjoy the beauty of nature all around us.
Palisades homes are close to local shopping,
The city of San Diego,
The local sandy beaches,
The majestic purple mountains
“A MAN’S HOME IS HIS CASTLE”
Palisades homes offer a variety of amenities:
Some have an huge master suite,
Some have a huge kitchen,
Some have a huge greatroom,
All have private yards with spectacular views!
“FRIENDS ADD FUN AND VIGOR TO ONE’S LIFE”
Some neighbors become walking buddies,
Some neighbors become best friends,
Some neighbors are there if you need them,
All neighbors enjoy the Palisades lifestyle!

I love living in The Palisades because of the tranquility and gorgeous views which surround us. The sunsets are amazing, and most homes have a view of either the sunset or sunrise, due to the location on the top of a ridge.
I also enjoy walking in the neighborhood. I see many of our neighbors out for walks, whether morning or evening. Some of them even stop to say ‘hi’ to our kitty, who sits in front of our home and greets them! That’s the other thing I love–everyone is so friendly here.
The thing I like best about living in The Palisades is the single-level floor plans, and the unique fact that The Palisades is built on a u-shaped ridge, so almost every home has a panoramic view. We don’t have HOA dues or Mello Roos, and I don’t know where you’ll ever find that again! I also love the convenient location. I like going to the grocery store pretty much every day, and I can be there in 5 minutes. I don’t know of a neighborhood with a better location.
